About

Parts of the pub date from the 15th  century right through to the 21st century but it has been closed and derelict since 2013. Under new ownership, work began in November 2021 to bring it back to life with a partial rebuild and complete refurbishment. Mersea Island is a special place with beaches, creeks, boardwalks, sailing, oysters and a great community.

Located at the heart of West Mersea village opposite the church, the pub is somewhere for a casual pint, an easy lunch or special celebratory dinner.
