About
We are delighted to welcome Elodie Harper, the novelist and television journalist, to the store to talk about the second novel in her Wolf Den trilogy. Asking questions on the night will be our very own Rob Byford. Novels with a classical setting are all the rage at the moment and in particular those which reimagine the lives of women who have been overlooked by history. For those familiar with Wolf Den, in the second volume, Amara has escaped life in the infamous brothel by being owned as a courtesan. Her patron has given her fine clothes and a house but she is aware of how precarious her position is. Not only that she is haunted by her past life and pursued by her former slavemaster. The novels are a great mix of historical detail of life in Pompeii before Vesuvius erupts laced with references to culture and mythology. Please purchase your tickets on the website if you want to attend. The doors will open at 6.45pm for a 7pm start. The talk will be followed by a chance for the audience to ask questions and then get a signed copy of The House With The Golden Door if you wish to.
