About

Be the first to experience this special new show commemorating the 200th anniversary of Colchester's own Jane Taylor's passing and inspired by the fascinating legacy of her timeless nursery rhyme "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".

Lunar Lullabies showcases stunning artworks which explore space and science, from interactive celestial objects, and immersive extra-terrestrial landscapes to sculptures of robots and rockets, there will be something for every space enthusiast, young and old, to enjoy.

There will be plenty to see and do throughout the day!
Activities on the day:

10:30am – 2pm | Embark on a cosmic artistic journey with artist Iris Dina Gunnardottir in the Mosaic Space! We'll get our hands dirty and sculpt clay into fantastical extra-terrestrial creatures.

10:30am – 2pm | Gaze and closely investigate the Sun, our nearest star, using specialist solar telescopes with a friendly team from Tiptree Stargazers Scopes in the Mosaic Space and the balcony on the Berryfield Lawn.

11am – 1pm | Free food available to all in our Studios until it's gone!

12pm | Welcome with Firstsite team in Gallery 2.

12pm – 12:30pm | Meet one of the Lunar Lullabies artists – Jackie Burns, Fellow of the International Association for Astronomical Artists in Gallery 2.
This free event is open to everyone of all ages and booking is not required.
