About

Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre (TIC) is open Monday to Saturday from 9.30am to 4pm. The friendly staff team can help with information about the town, what's on, accommodation suggestions and local transport. The free town trail is a must-have when visiting Saffron Walden. Staff can also give advice about visiting attractions in the wider area. 

The TIC's e-shop is open 24/7 at https://www.visitsaffronwalden.gov.uk/shop/ , with a posting-out option (UK and abroad), or, for local people, a free click & collect option. Collections can be made during opening hours. 

The TIC sells a number of tickets for local events, including variously Blue Badge Guided tours, Historic Building Tours, Food Tours and concert tickets.

Accessibility

  • Disabled access - The TIC is located in a listed building and disabled access is via a movable ramp. Staff may need time to organise assistance to get this put in place.

Meeting, Conference & Wedding Facilities

  • Venue approved for civil marriage - The Tourist Information Centre is funded by Saffron Walden Town Council. The adjacent Town Hall is approved for civil marriage and so can be booked for weddings.

  • Free Parking - 30 minutes free parking in the Market Place (longer stay recommended).

Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre is located centrally at 1 Market Place, Saffron Walden CB10 1HR.

Public Transport Directions

Saffron Walden can be reached by car from the M11 (from London leave at junction 8 for Bishops Stortford and follow the signs to Saffron Walden/Audley End House, or from Cambridge leave at junction 10 and follow the signs to Saffron Walden). 

By train, travel to Audley End (on the London Liverpool Street to  Cambridge Greater Anglia line) and then take a bus to Saffron Walden (Mon to Sat only), or walk (25 minutes), or take a taxi.
