Morning - Start your family adventure with a visit to Old Macdonald's Farm. With a fantastic range of animals, amusements, and activities, you're sure to love your time at this petting farm. Enjoy a bite to eat at the Farm Cafe on site.
Afternoon - Let the kids loose to roam the Thames Chase Community Forest, part at the Forest Centre in Upminster, and have fun following the trails and in the play park. Bikes are available to hire between April and September.
Morning - Explore Tilbury Fort, managed by English Heritage, which has protected London from the 16th century through to WWII. Henry VIII built the first fort here, Elizabeth I rallied her army nearby upon threat from the Armada and today, learn what it is like to be a soldier who lived there.
Afternoon - Drive to Lakeside where there really is something for everyone, from crazy golf to cinema as well as great brands at numerous shops and popular food outlets. From here, visit the Essex County Fire & Rescue Service Museum in Grays. Discover how firefighting has changed over the years through their collection of historic fire engines, fire fighting equipment, uniforms and photographs.
Stay at the beautifully presented tudor manor house, Marygreen Manor or if you prefer self-catering, there are plenty of options at Lee Valley Campsite, Stewardstone and Lee Valley Caravan Park, Dobbs Weir.
