Seaside Delights only a Train ride away
Escape the capital with an easy journey by train to the seaside.
Morning - Arrive by train to Leigh-on-Sea and breathe in the sea air as you wander along the coast. Pick up a memento of your trip in one of the charming independent boutiques and stores along the high street. There's plenty of choice of independent cafes and restaurants for lunch along the high street or try some traditional seafood (cockles and whelks anyone...?) at one of the fish bars along the seafront.
Afternoon - head to Southend, only a short train ride away, where you can stroll out to sea along the longest pleasure pier in the world, home to the popular TV show, 'Jamie and Jimmy's Friday Night Feast', or enjoy the thrills of Adventure Island theme park, right there on the seafront.
Stay for a fish and chip supper at The Three Shells or Sands before heading home.
