About
Rayne Heritage was created as part of the commitment made to the Heritage Lottery Fund in return for its generous contribution towards the refurbishment of All Saints Church, Rayne, Essex. It provides a platform for a community based heritage project offering both self guided and guided walks around Rayne, along with a website containing Rayne Heritage resources. Rayne Heritage is staffed entirely by volunteers.
The Rayne Heritage Trail is a circular walk visting 21 points of interest in the village.
The All Saints Guide is a circular walk highlighing 23 points of interest in the church.

Rayne Heritage Trail guided walks include a hot beverage and cake at the Booking Hall Cafe afterwards. Reduced rates are available for private groups.

Road Directions
Rayne is on the B1256, which runs from Braintree to Great Dunmow. By Foot. There is a roadside footpath from Braintree. Alternatively, walkers can use The Flitch Way (a linear country park), stretching from Braintree Railway Station (in the east) towards Bishops Stortford (in the west).
Public Transport Directions
Access to Rayne is easy by all means of transport. However, as parking is limited, we encourage visitors to use other modes of transport if at all possible. By Bus. Rayne is on the Arriva bus route 133 between Braintree Town Centre and Stansted Airport. There are several bus stops in the village. The Swan stop is best for starting the Heritage Trail. By train. Braintree Station is just under two miles from Rayne. There is easy access to The Flitch Way from just outside the station. By Bike. Using the Flitch Way is recommended, as it is part of the National Cycle Route Network (Route 16) and provides a safe cycle path to Rayne.
