Wyvernwood is an immersive story-led experience near Colchester, Essex, for families with children aged 2-12.

Guests should be prepared to leave all their worries behind when they step through the Magic Portal and enter the magical Kingdom of Wyvernwood to experience an enchanting story about fierce dragons, fabulous fairies, a warrior princess, spell-blinding wizards, menacing goblins, magical unicorns and our heroic sea captain - all brought to life every day through our talented actors who welcome guests with an opening ceremony and make everyone feel special throughout the day. There are story-telling sessions and unique interactions with all of the characters, all day long.

Play structures include a 9m high Enchanted Castle; Goblins’ Tunnels; Magic Wishing Well; Dragon Karts; Bouncing Pillow; an adventure trail with puzzles and riddles to solve; a maize maze; and the Wellbeing Woods where the fairies and wizards reside. 

Get children away from screens, into nature and have fun as a family. Enjoy the fabulous food kiosks or bring a picnic and delight in the Treasure Trove, a shop full of treats and gifts which reflect the Wyvernwood experience.

Road Directions

Our postcode is CO7 8AP and the entrance is located off the B1027 on the outskirts of the village of Alresford, in North Essex. FREE parking including designated disabled bays and a separate coach parking zone.

Public Transport Directions

TRAIN - The closest train station to Wyvernwood is Alresford train station which has links to all major towns within Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk and to London. We run a FREE shuttle service between the train station and Wyvernwood for those travelling by train.

BUS - To visit Wyvernwood by bus you will need to use the following routes whether you are travelling east from Colchester or West from Clacton.

When using these routes, you will need to exit the bus at Brook Farm on Tenpenny Hill where you will be able to see the entrance to Wyvernwood.

BICYCLE - There is free bicycle parking at Wyvernwood.
