Based in the Maldon district, Tillingham is a small village in the Dengie Peninsula and is approximately eight miles from Burnham-on-Crouch and three miles from Bradwell-on-Sea. It is also close to the River Crouch and the River Blackwater. The village - with the centre designated as a conservation area - has two public houses, The Fox and Hounds and The White Feathers, and which date from the 15th century. Tillingham also has a primary school, St. Nicholas' Church, a village shop and a doctors surgery.
The village is close to Southminster train station and is accessible via the B1021.
