About

The Colchester Chinese Culture Society is thrilled to be working with two multi-award winning musicians. We are proud to present pianist Bingbing Li and soprano Lili Fang in the first of a series of musical concerts.

Bingbing Li has played piano around the world as a soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist with Naxos. Bingbing is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music where she previously studied under Professor Christopher Elton and graduated with a DipRAM for outstanding performance.

Bingbing is an experienced piano professor having taught at many institutions including the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Chetham’s School of Music, and the Royal Northern College of Music.

She regularly tours and adjudicates international piano competitions, and frequently gives masterclasses at China’s top music conservatories.

Lili Fang is an operatic soprano and the leading lady of China's largest professional arts organisation, Jiangsu Performing Arts Group. She has performed around the world as a soloist – including at the Musikverein for the Vienna New Year’s Concert – and as a leading actress in musical theatre productions, such as "Dawn in Sorrow", "Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching Ling" and in the international debut of "Fleeting Clouds – The Splendid Library" performed at the Edinburgh Festival.

Lili is an accomplished folk, bel canto and traditional Chinese opera singer and is a previous winner of China’s Wen Hua Award, the country’s highest honour for vocal performance. Within the Chinese system, she has attained the level of national first-class actor.
