Idyllic Braxted Park, a prestigious events venue, welcomes gardeners to enjoy its tranquil surroundings. Extensive borders of perennials, shrubs and roses abound. Walled Garden features themed gardens radiating from the central fountain and parasol mulberry trees. Themes inc a Black and White Garden, Italian Garden and English Garden, each containing a wealth of planting inspiration. A native wildflower meadow extends from the house (not open) towards the lake.

Head Gardener, Andrea Cooper, will be on hand to answer questions and guided tours for a further donation of £5pp payable upon the day. An extensive new native meadow has been created between house and lakes. A walk around the lake is not to be missed. Guide dogs only.

Refreshments, including light lunches and afternoon teas, and plants for sale, most areas wheelchair accessible.

Directions to The Cookery School at Braxted ParkFrom London/Chelmsford• Travel northbound on the A12 towards Colchester/Ipswich• Leave the A12 at turn off Silver End/Rivenhall End (just after junction 22 for Witham• At the end of the road turn right onto Henry Dixon Road and continue forward onto Braxted Road• You will then pass over a humpback bridge• When you see the wall that surrounds the Estate – follow signs for the Estate rather than the golf course• Follow the road and the entrance to the Estate is on your left (straight after a bend).
