Colchester Castle is offering free monthly tours focusing on LGBTQ+ historical figures and themes. The tours are open to anyone with an interest in new historical perspectives. Each tour promises a unique exploration of LGBTQ+ history, and no two tours will be identical.
These tours cover various fascinating topics, from Julius Caesar's love for a Bithynian king to the stories of those imprisoned in Colchester Castle Gaol. Participants will understand how different eras' historical and cultural contexts have shaped LGBTQ+ history.
*The tour is free. If you wish to explore the museum afterwards, you must pay for entry.

Train
Colchester is just 58 minutes on the main train line from London or Norwich. Arriving at Colchester Main station, the museums are just a 20 minute walk or a short bus ride to the city centre.
Arriving at Colchester Town station the museums are a 10 minute walk, up Queens Street and St Botolphs Street.
Bus
The museums are a 10 minute walk from the main bus station on Osborne Street.
