About
In the second of our Spring Concert Series at the Old Library, the Consone Quartet – one of the most exciting young string quartets in the UK at the moment – play Haydn & Mozart.
Their début at Roman River follows performances at the Edinburgh, Cheltenham, Brighton and Buxton Festivals, the Heidelberg String Quartet Festival, Philharmonie de Paris and Auditorium de Lyon, Concertgebouw Brugge, AMUZ and de Bijloke in Belgium, Concerts d'été à St Germain in Switzerland, venues in Italy, Austria, Bulgaria and Slovenia, and the Wigmore Hall, King's Place and St John's Smith Square in their home city of London. They'll make their North American debut in February 2023 but you don't have to go all that way - they're coming to your doorstep in Colchester!
"The Consone Quartet are a young string quartet with a really big future. They play with perfect intonation, tremendous attack, and impeccable historical style. All the four instruments work together with such intelligence and imagination, that I would happily listen to them every day." Sir Roger Norrington
