Colchester Roman Circus Centre

About

Horses are back at the chariot-racing track! Meet the Romans and see 'Star' the Caspian horse at the Starting Gates.

A great way to start the summer holidays!

Join Antonia Augusta, Dreda and the Colchester Roman Society at Britain's only-known Roman Circus, the chariot racing arena.

Caspian horse, Star', will be trotting around the chariot racing track starting gates.

Antonia Augusta will be giving a 'Roman' gift to everyone dressed as a Roman (yes, grown-ups too!) - will you be an emperor, a soldier, a slave, an ordinary citizen, or a wealthy lady like Antonia?

Dreda, a Roman food expert, will have her table of edible fare on display. Anyone for a stuffed dormouse?

The Colchester Roman Society will be around to chat to everyone about chariot-racing, soldiering and everyday life in Roman Britain.

FREE outdoor event. FREE guided tours at 12 noon, 1 pm and 2 pm.

£3 entry fee for 'over 11's to the Visitor Centre, payable at the door (2 children per responsible adult).
