About
The 39 Steps is an hilarious spy parody adapted from the 1915 novel by John Buchan and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock.
Richard Hannay - a young bachelor - experiences a series of improbable events, starting with a murder, by what he believes to be foreign agents, and a picture perfect frame-up. Dogged by the police, Hannay runs for his life. Catapulted from one humorous quasi-romantic encounter, plot twist, and narrow escape to another, our protagonist searches frantically for a way out and ends up with much more than he could have expected.
Running for over 9 years in the West End, the show the 5th longest running play in west End history and contains every single legendary scene from the award-winning movie — including the chase on the Flying Scotsman, the escape on the Forth Bridge, a bi-plane crash and the finale in the London Palladium.
