The Comedy Of Errors

About

In Shakespeare’s screwball comedy, two sets of twins separated at birth unwittingly find themselves in the same city on the same day, leading to a string of mistaken identities and chaotic mishaps.

Set at the decadent Hotel Esphesus in the roaring 20’s, our wild, whirling production of the bard’s first and funniest farce is packed to the rafters with puns, slapstick and gags galore.

Directed by our very own Ryan McBryde (AladdinBaskerville), featuring vintage pop tunes performed by a raucous band of actor-musicians, The Comedy of Errors is the perfect way to celebrate 50 years of the Mercury Theatre – and, promises to be a hilarious night out for the whole family.

Celebrate our 50th anniversary with us on Wed 18 May, 7.30pm

Enjoy a very special evening to celebrate the golden anniversary of being in our iconic building. There’ll be a glass of bubbly before the show and cake — lots of cake — and perhaps some surprises too! We guarantee a memorable and enchanting evening as we raise funds for the next 50 years.

Post-show Q&A

Join us after the 7.30pm performance on Tue 24 May for a 30 minute post-show Q&A session.
