About
Assuming that coronavirus has become just a sad memory and the ‘new normal’ includes live music and a great night out, this ever-popular homage to the prettiest starman of all time, DAVID BOWIE, returns to Colchester Arts Centre. Something to look forward to.
Since David’s death on January 10th 2016, Colchester-based musicians THE PRETTIEST STARMAN (Anton Pace, Paul Rutterford, Nelson Nice and Cara Bruns) have been keeping his music and memory alive by performing classic singles and album tracks from his golden years (1969-1975). Sell-out shows at Colchester and Norwich Arts Centres and a couple of Bowie weekenders have been enthusiastically received by all who managed to attend. In fact, the shows always sell out, so if you think this is for you, we’d recommend getting your tickets early – avoid the unholy scramble for tickets that happens every year in the weeks leading up to the gigs. At this next show, the band will once again perform some of his best-loved songs from Space Oddity, The Man Who Sold The World, Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Station to Station and Lodger. Images of David will play out on the big screen throughout the evening – it would be pointless hosting a Bowie night without David being there one way or another.
Please don’t come along expecting to see a looky-likey band – THE PRETTIEST STARMAN is just a group of friends and massive fans of David Bowie, joyously performing some of his greatest songs with love and passion. Singing along is actively encouraged. The songs are the stars of this show, not the individuals on stage. If all the previous TPS shows are anything to go by, this will be a brilliant and unmissable night.
Tickets £12.
Doors open 7.30pm.
