About
The Salem witch trials of 1692 were the largest and deadliest witch-hunt in North American history. In just over one year, 19 people were hanged, a man was tortured to death, five perished in jail, and 150-200 were accused of witchcraft and arrested. In this presentation, Salem Witch Museum educators Rachel Christ-Doane and Jill Christiansen will discuss how and why this witch-hunt broke out in 1692, the aftermath of these devastating events, and the enduring significance of the witchcraft trials.
