Uttlesford isn’t a name you’ll find on a map but it encompasses a beautiful, rural area in the north west corner of Essex, centred around the historic market towns of Saffron Walden, Great Dunmow and Thaxted. Uttlesford is also well known for its many idyllic villages and picturesque cottages nestled amongst the rolling countryside, many of which can be explored on foot via a network of footpaths.
The region is also home to Stansted Airport and the magnificent expanse of Hatfield Forest, a former Royal hunting forest, owned by the National Trust.
