Located approximately three miles from Maldon, Woodham Mortimar is a small village in the Dengie Peninsula. The village features the Hurdlemakers Arms, a golf driving range, with a pitch and putt course, a village hall and St. Margaret's Church, while Woodham Mortimer Hall was built in the 17th century. Woodham Mortimar is also nine miles from Chelmsford and eight miles from South Woodham Ferrers and is part of the Wickham Bishops and Woodham ward of the Maldon District.
