Centuries old custom of Blessing of the Waters at Brightlingsea Hard. Starts at 11.30am with colourful robed procession of Cinque Port & Essex Mayors & others to Town Hard. At noon open air Blessing of Waters & boats by Bishop at Hard. Then at 1pm historic boats covered in bunting & flags set off along Brightlingsea Creek, accompanied by the "Din" to "Beat the Bounds" (boundaries) of Brightlingsea & its Waters. A great traditional annual event.
