About
Burnham Week is known as the East Coast's most challenging and friendly regatta, set in the River Crouch off Burnham-on-Crouch. More than 20 categories are available to enter, including dinghies, cruisers, Dragons and Gig racing, with plenty of activities on and off the water, including a firework display on the final day, Saturday 2 September, at 9pm.
Watching a race during Burnham Week is an exciting experience, as there is always a lot of activity on and off the water. Spectators can gather along the riverfront or on nearby hills to get a good view of the action, and there is often a festive atmosphere with food and drink vendors, music, and other entertainment. The racing can be very close, with boats often crossing the finish line only a few seconds apart. It is a chance to witness some of the best sailors in the UK and beyond, as they compete in one of the oldest and most prestigious sailing events in the country.
