About
Allnighter is a show of new paintings and sculptures by London based artist James Tuitt taking inspiration from the iconic rave posters and flyers of the 1990s, which were characterised by floating figures, towering futuristic bodies and sinister landscapes.
The artist, mixes his passion for the graphic design of the era with his love for postmodern design and his appreciation for the black women that raised him, inspired him and prompted him on a journey of self discovery.
The exhibition will take visitors through the journey of a raver, from their home, to a long night on the dancefloor, and back, the morning after. This journey takes the colours, shapes and patterns of the playful fashion and objects of design which characterised the 1980s and the early 1990s.
