Othona Art Week

About

This is a week of creative fun, with experimental drawing, inspired by the beautiful surroundings of Bradwell. There will be guided time each morning, when exciting new drawing techniques will be demonstrated with the opportunity to go outside and try these out in the local landscape. If the weather is wet, there will be indoor projects as well. The tutor will be on hand to give individual guidance throughout the day. There will be some optional activities during the evenings. In addition to working with more traditional materials, the tutor will also demonstrate the exciting possibilities of drawing and painting on an IPad, iPhone and other digital devices using art apps which are simple to use with striking results! The focus of this week is on fun and experimentation, so don't worry if you think you cannot draw!

Mark Lewis is a jeweller and silversmith living in London. He has a longstanding interest in contemporary approaches to landscape drawing and painting. Mark was the principal lecturer in the John Cass Department of Art Media and Design at London Metropolitan University and currently teaches part-time at the Goldsmith's centre in London.
