About

Forest school for under 5's at Rainham Marshes Nature Reserve

Join us for a half term of nature exploration and adventure in our Woodland Discovery Zone.

Forest school aims to inspire children through nature, building their confidence and self esteem and encouraging individual growth. At these sessions, young children from 18 months to 5 years, with their carer, can learn through play at their own pace. Through wildlife inspired arts and crafts, building, climbing, bug hunting or simply experiencing the tranquillity and calm of their natural surroundings, children will be supported on their individual learning journey by our experienced outdoor educators.

Wild in the Woods should be booked, in advance, your ticket will cover the block of six sessions:

8 September

15 September

22 September

29 September

6 October

Suitable for any child who can walk confidently (guide age 18 months to 5 years). One parent or carer can accompany their child. There is no charge for parent/carer or for accompanying younger siblings up to 18 months.

Sessions take place outdoors in all weather so suitable clothing is essential for all participants (including accompanying adults): wellies or waterproof boots, waterproof jacket and preferably trousers (or puddlesuit), warm layers, long sleeves and trouser legs, sun hat/cream in warm weather. Insect repellent is advised.

Children are encouraged to eat and drink whenever they need to so carers should bring snacks and drinks.

When you book, please book the number of child places you require and add a free parent/carer ticket to your booking. Only one carer per group please and your group must not exceed six in total (ie 1 carer and up to 5 children).

Please be assured that this event will comply with the appropriate Government Coronavirus regulations and guidance for everyone's health and safety. Should the regulations and/or advice change ahead of your visit, we will contact you immediately to discuss the impact of the changes on your booking.
