About

The Marks Tey Hotel is currently undergoing a major refurbishment which includes 21 additional bedrooms taking the total count to 131 rooms overall.

Once complete, the Hotel will be able to offer a number of room types which can sleep up to 4 guests in contemporary rooms with all the modern amenties you would expect from a deluxe 4-star property.

Located just off the A12 and on the outskirts of town, Marks Tey Hotel is the ideal base for exploring the county and is very close to top attractions such as the award-winning Colchester Zoo, historic Layer Marney Tower, world famous Tiptree Jam and Markshall Estate with walled garden, woodlands and arboretum.

There is ample parking at the Hotel which is free of charge providing your registration is entered at reception on arrival. 

After a busy day, all residents will be able to make use of the Lifestyle Health Club facilities including a gym, indoor pool, sauna and steam room, allowing time to relax after exploring the nearby historic city centre and surrounding areas of interest.

Dinner is served in the Hotel Restaurant with a menu utilising locally sourced ingredients and a menu bring a modern twist to traditional classics.

 The bar is available all day long serving hot and cold drinks, traditional beers and lagers and a selection of flavoured gins.

Prices vary according to the room type selected.
Options of room only, bed and breakfast and dinner, bed and breakfast apply.
Dog stays incur a £30 charge per stay and must be advised in advance.
Flexible rates and advance purchase rates available dependent on booking lead time.
Early check-in charge of £30 applies before 3pm allowing access from midday
Late check-out extension from 11am to 1pm - £2

Road Directions

Travelling to the Hotel from London, exit the A12 at junction 25, signposted A120 Stansted. At the roundabout, take the third exit, head over the A12 and then at the next roundabout take the first exit onto the B1408 and the Hotel can be found just 350 yards on the left.

There is an additional large car park to the rear of the Hotel.

Marks Tey train station is a walkable 7 minutes away and provides access into London

Bus number 70 from Colchester/Chelmsford, passes along London Road and there's a stop just putside the Hotel
