Roslin Beach Hotel Makes Best Places to Stay List 2025 by Sunday Times
10th March 2025
Visit Essex, the county’s tourism organisation, is celebrating one of its members, The Roslin Beach Hotel, making the Sunday Times top places to stay 2025 list.
The Roslin Beach Hotel, Thorpe Bay, Southend-on-Sea was given the recognition thanks to its top-class hospitality. The Sunday Times describes the place as, ‘a slice of Florida fun on the Essex estuary’. The hotel has ‘palm-print wallpaper, warming orange palette and electric atmosphere, this breezy seaside hangout has an air more of Miami than Southend-on-Sea’.
The hotel scored an impressive eight out of ten for its offer, which includes 37 top-class rooms and suites with 20 bedrooms with sea views. Each room offers coastal chic décor with luxurious walk-in showers and deep-soak bathtubs. The dining spaces were also a hit with The Sunday Times, which described the place as ‘where Essex comes to have fun – on a weekend the atmosphere is as fizzy as the nearby arcades.’ Guests are encouraged to book ahead as the dining space is extremely popular. The hotel also won praise for its Retreat spa, offering guests the perfect place for a spot of indulgence and relaxation.
Jacqui Dallimore, Owner, The Roslin Beach Hotel, is delighted with the hotel’s latest accolade. She says: “We’re really pleased to have been recognised as one of the top stays in the UK. We are the only hotel in Essex on The Sunday Times best places to stay list and are very proud of this achievement.”
Tourism in Essex is booming. Latest figures reveal (2023) Essex welcomes 54.2 million visitors a year: making the industry worth £3.5 billion.
Councillor Mark Durham, Chair of Visit Essex, celebrates The Roslin Hotel’s success. He says: “Essex is a diverse county with a stunning 350-mile coastline. We have a wide range of stays from luxurious hotel and spa establishments to camping and glamping hideaways. Whatever style of accommodation you’re looking for Essex offers a very special warm welcome.”
He continued: “I must applaud the efforts of The Roslin Beach Hotel. They have invested in their facilities and staff to create a stand out experience for all their customers. The team thoroughly deserve the recognition of The Sunday Times, and I wish them continued success.”
