Visit Essex and Explore Essex calls on budding photographers to snap iconic landmarks
14th November 2024
Visit Essex and Explore Essex have launched a photography competition following on from the success of the recent Essex Day celebrations, which showcased top tourist icons in Essex.
Visit Essex has joined forces with Explore Essex, who manage and promote some of Essex County Council’s owned green spaces and heritage places. Together they’re calling on budding photographers to snap their perfect ‘iconic landmarks and attractions’ shot in Essex.
Essex County Council’s Councillor for the Arts, Heritage and Culture, and Chair of Visit Essex, Mark Durham is encouraging people to share their iconic landmark pictures of Essex.
He said: “Whether you have a camera in hand or take shots on your phone, we’d love to see your favourite, iconic pictures of Essex. What makes Essex your county? Is it an attraction where you can get your thrills like Adventure Island or a heritage building steeped in rich Essex history, or one of the county’s stunning country parks?
Whatever your icon is, enter our competition to show off the iconic Essex landmarks and what it means to you.”
The winning photograph will feature in a future edition of the Essex Explorer magazine, and the lucky winner will receive a Tiptree Tea Rooms Winter Hamper worth £80. The runner-up will be gifted a Tiptree Tea Rooms Cream Tea Voucher for two and a 10% discount voucher at the Tiptree shop.
Lauren Spindler, Marketing Assistant at Tiptree Tea Rooms, said: “We’re thrilled that Visit Essex has chosen us as an icon of Essex. Our story began in Essex; the Wilkin and Son family has been making quality preserves in Tiptree, Essex, since 1885. We have tea rooms across the county for people to come and taste our world-renowned jam. We’re happy to give back and be part of this competition, offering prizes to the winner and runner-up.”
To enter the competition, email a picture of your iconic landmark in Essex to explore.essex@essex.gov.uk, with the subject line ‘Photo Competition’. Entries close on Sunday 8 December. For more information about the competition, visit www.explore-essex.com/ee-comp.
