About

Harwich International Port is a gateway to and from Europe and one of the UK’s leading passenger and freight terminals.

If you’re planning a trip to Essex from Europe, Stena Line ferries operate daily with overnight sailings. The journey from the Hook of Holland to the port takes around 6 and a half hours, and is the most direct route from the Netherlands and Germany to the South of England. You can travel from Europe with your vehicle, or if you are travelling by foot you can continue your outbound journey by rail.

Stay a while in Harwich and explore the stunning 350-mile-long coastline or head to the picturesque Essex countryside. Don’t just pass through Essex, find yourself in Essex.

The port is located on the east coast of England with great transport links to the rest of Essex. If you’re travelling onwards by rail, you can use Harwich International Station, which is situated opposite the ferry and cruise terminals. The port is not far from the capital if you wish to extend your stay in the UK, with regular operating services to London and other UK destinations.
