About

Epping Forest District Museum features seven galleries all with exciting displays, step free access throughout the building and on-site collections storage allowing visitors to see behind the scenes.

The museum's rich and diverse collections are now at the heart of the site with a new gallery, 'The Core Gallery.' This gallery reveals the fascinating story of the museum's collection in a cabinet of curiosities, filled with objects. Within this area are views through into the new collections storage space giving visitors the opportunity to peer behind the scenes into the art and costume stores and see people at work caring for the collection.

Step back in time and experience the museum's fascinating collections from the medieval bible to a stunning Tudor panelled room, from the mammoth tusk to a World War II gas mask.

Wheelchair access throughout.
