About

Join us for a circular walk in beautiful Bures and see the Bures dragon! Etched in chalk in 2012 as part of the Queen's Diamond jubilee celebrations, it is set in beautiful rolling hillsides. Meet at Bures train station at about 10.30. (The 10.01 from Marks Tey should arrive at 10.13; and the 10.26 from Sudbury should arrive at 10.33).  Book your free tickets  here

The walk goes through the village with an option for a coffee break at a local pub. We then go to historic St. Stephen's chapel, which should be open. This is also proposed as Edmund's coronation site. Beyond the chapel we reach the best view of the dragon. There is then a walk back to the station via the pub where people can have lunch if they wish.

Disckaimer: This walk will be led by a volunteer with knowledge of the area and its history. By undertaking the walk you are taking responsibility for your own safety. Allow up to two and a half hours for the walk which is between 5 and 7 kilometres long.
