About

Unlimited rides on a train hauled by one of our vintage Steam Locomotives on our Miniature Railway and Model Railway Show.
Our popular Small Trains Day is back – but it's not just small trains – one of our full sized steam locomotives and a Diesel locomotive will also be in action with unlimited rides all day on our demonstration line.

Our Miniature Railway will also be in operation giving rides, and along with our friends from the Braintree and Halstead Model Railway Club there will be a Model Railway exhibition featuring a number of visiting layouts in a variety of scales as well as a selection of model traders. Plus the Braintree and Halstead Model Railway clubrooms will be open with another 7 layouts.

Check out our working Restoration Shed, See how the volunteers are getting on with the restoration of Lamport, the magnificent Victorian Goods Shed, period Waiting Rooms & Signal Box as well as the Heritage Centre Rooms in the Thompson Building & Train themed Childrens Playground, our site of over 10 acres is ideal if you would like to bring your own picnic.
