About

We commemorate 500 years at Layer Marney Tower. Its creator Henry, 1st Lord Marney, died in 1523.
A carriage carrying his effigy, dressed in full armour, will be drawn by six beautiful horses and a procession of Tudors carrying flags and banners will accompany him into the church, his final resting place.
We invite you to witness this spectacular arrival and enjoy the Tudor Fair.
Have your photo taken with the gentry, locked in the stocks or wearing the armour. Try your aim at the archery or your hand with the brass rubbing. How did they make ink to write with? How did they make their clothes? How did they cut their food? Come along and find out.
