Chelmsford has been known as the birthplace of radio since the first regular broadcast from Marconi in 1922.As such it has become a huge part of our collective heritage. Celebrate 100 years since BBC birth. From 4pm, the light parade will kick off a fabulous night of events on 11th February 2022 on the green (.Writtle Village Hall). Children will then have the opportunity to watch a fantastic Punch and Judy show (Christian Center). Come dressed in your finest 1920s attire in support of local schools for our outdoor dress up party. Reward prize for the most dashing outfit. Hot food and drink will be on offer including vegan options.
